The Clearinghouse is foundational to the Love INC movement. Without it, our ministry would cease to exist. The Clearinghouse is the connecting agent between the person in need and those serving them (churches, agencies, volunteers and other resources). Our process works in 4 steps:

  1. Request – A person in need calls the Love INC Clearinghouse with a request for help
  1. Assess – Volunteers or staff conducts an intake to get details of their request. We examine the nature, extent and legitimacy of the client’s need.
  1. Provide – After a need is analyzed and verified, the need is referred to the most appropriate Love INC partner church, volunteer, or agency to address the need.
  1. Follow Up – Clearinghouse Coordinator then follows up with the Neighbor in Need and ministry that provided the assistance to ensure that help was received.

For requests for help, please call (205-614-2849) Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9 and 12.

“The bridge of love”

Transformational Ministry

The Bridge of Love is a 52 week mentoring program of Love INC. During the 52 weeks, we assist individuals and families to become more self-sufficient in every area of their lives. We encourage people to develop a relationship with God and become more responsible with their finances as well as learn skills for successful living. We provide free classes and childcare on Thursday nights, at First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa, so that program participants can take the time to learn to better manage their life and money.

The Bridge of Love Program is free of charge to our participants and there are no income restrictions. However, it costs $1,000 to sponsor a participant for the 52 weeks of The Bridge of Love Program.

Please consider donating to fund our transformational ministry or volunteering to help be a part of this program.

GAP Ministries

The purpose of a Gap Ministry is to provide a resource or service to meet ongoing, unmet needs or “gaps” in Tuscaloosa County. Each Gap Ministry is focused on meeting a particular need by providing:

  • Services such as transportation, budget counseling, home repair, etc.
  • Products such as food, baby supplies, clothes, furniture, etc.

Love INC encourages churches to respond to these unmet needs by adopting a Gap Ministry. They can be adopted by churches, ministries, small groups or Sunday School classes to help us meet the needs of the community. Because the Love INC Clearinghouse secures current and relevant information on unmet needs, Love INC can provide valuable insights on new ways churches can meet those needs and have a deeper impact in the lives of people and the community.
